Christmas is a special time of the year, and for most of us, it is a time to reflect, relax and celebrate with our loved ones. During December, the Love Kate’s team is proud to have picked, packed, and delivered Christmas spirit far and wide, sending extra special cards and gifts for your friends and family to enjoy this Christmas.
Our customer’s favourite Christmas Cards in 2022With over 1000 new cards added to our Christmas collection this year, you may have noticed that we were determined to help our wonderful customers find a card that’s just right. Our new collection of personalised Christmas Pop Ups meant that you could make everyone feel special, with options for the whole family, friends and even your pet! We didn’t stop there… We added new 3D cards, Letters from Santa and even a few new tasty treats. All the hard work was worth it after seeing just how much you loved your cards: |

Whether they love Peter Rabbit, Harry Potter or more traditional religious messages, we truly had a card for everyone this Christmas. You may be surprised to learn, I start buying Christmas cards and hand-picking my favourites in January each year, in preparation for the following Christmas.
Sadly, Christmas 2022 was very challenging
Despite our best efforts to provide our usual level of service, the Royal Mail strikes had a devasting impact on our delivery times this Christmas. Although we worked hard and despatched orders the same day as we received them and encouraged customers to upgrade their shipping, the backlog of mail unfortunately led to delays. I would sincerely like to apologise to any customers who were inconvenienced by these delays and once again, thank you for your patience and understanding during this difficult time. I would also like to reassure you that the postal system should be back to normal again in the new year and hope that you continue to trust Love Kate’s to help you make special moments memorable. I reduced the prices we charge for our Economy and Express Tracked post and plan to keep these prices low into 2023 to help our customers take advantage of the benefits of these two tracked services at an affordable cost.
Looking back at a few of my favourite moments of 2022
Although this Christmas wasn’t as expected, I’d like to look back and celebrate the amazing moments that have occurred during 2022. Our small team here at Love Kate’s have worked together throughout the year in our large warehouse in Cornwall. Once I’ve hand-picked cards and gifts that we’ve chosen for the Love Kate’s shop, each member of the team has a role to play, from creating pages on the website, to taking care of your orders, and picking and packing them ready for Royal Mail to collect each day, including Saturdays. It is important to us that we take care with every step of every customer order. We recognise many customer names now and our VIP Customer list is growing month to month.

At Love Kate’s we are so fortunate that essentially what we do is help people celebrate each other through cards and gifts. Helping people find perfect cards and gifts is what we are all about. It’s so very exciting for me to personally come up with ideas and then with the help of my dedicated team, turn them into a reality. Our singing birthday cards with recorded names are so unusual. We record each one after the order is placed and it seems everyone loves them! We recorded a special personalised singing card for Edna’s 100th birthday with us all singing “Happy Birthday Dear Edna”. The singing wasn’t perfect, but the card certainly was, it was a big hit with Edna! |

Our range of personalised Pop Up Cards that includes the big Christmas range above, also contains a range of Birthday and Anniversary cards we launched in the Spring. With ages 1 through to 109 available as a number on a pop up card for Birthdays, and years 1 to 60 available as milestone on a beautiful pop up Anniversary card, customers have been able to send even more perfect cards to celebrate special moments. I’m so very excited that plans are under way for even more cards and captions for Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day, as well as a complete range of everyday cards for every occasion and celebration with captions for all the family, including the dog. Sending Cards throughout 2022 with heartfelt messages
Throughout the year we’ve handwritten thousands of Birthday Cards, Anniversary Cards, Sympathy Cards, Christmas Cards and sent them direct for you. With the cost of stamps rising, our popular Handwriting service is often more cost effective for you, and customers can rely on us to take care to personally hand write your special greeting for you. Our small team have each been treated to a Calligraphy kit and training package with Jenni from The Calligraphy Box so that we can continue to try to offer the best service we can.
Sending cards is important business to you and it is to us too.
Looking forward to 2023 we have lots more ideas to keep Love Kate’s special, and to ensure our most loyal customers, as well as our brand new – and very welcome – new shoppers, can find extra special cards and carefully selected gifts. As well as to ensure we can continue to offer all the extra personal touches that are so important. We are planning to launch a brand new range of special ‘surprises’ in a ‘box’ to send to friends and family celebrating special events. Shhhh we are keeping it secret for now, but we know you will love it!
As we say goodbye to 2022 and welcome 2023, we hope all your Christmas cards arrive, eventually. Perhaps join us on Festive Friday next year, and send them off extra early to start a wave of Christmas card sending for 2023. Anyway, the team will now be taking a well-earned break to enjoy the festivities (some need it more than others, right Noodle?) and we’ll see you when we’re back in the office on Wednesday 28th November and then back to business-as normal after the New Year celebrations in 2023. |
